Learn self-hypnosis in five easy steps
Self-hypnosis can seem mysterious, but it's really just 5 simple steps. Of course, you need to practice these steps to become adept at self-hypnosis, but the measures themselves – induction, deepening, suggestion, posthypnotic suggestion, and awakening – are not difficult to understand.
Self hypnosis induction begins. In this process, you bring in a hypnotic state. You can start by progressive relaxation or focusing on a word or phrase. Most people find it easier if induction comfortably in a quiet room, eyes closed. After having practiced enough that you can achieve the hypnotic state with a single word or thought (trigger), you will not be as easily distracted by sound or visual stimuli.
The next step in self-hypnosis is deepening. The aim of deepening is to develop further the hypnotic state so you can connect directly with the subconscious. An effective way to achieve this is the countdown 20 to 1, you feel to go further with each issue. You can also repeat: "I'm older and deeper. "
The main work Self-hypnosis is performed during the third stage, suggestions. In this step you will use visualizations and affirmations to suggest desired changes to the subconscious mind. Visualization is to use imagination to create an image with the 5 senses, and thoughts and feelings. In this photo, you've reached the change you want to produce. If you want to stop smoking, you can imagine to one party or another location you might smoke, but doing something pleasant. The best you can see, hear, feel, smell, taste and even desired situation, the most powerful visualization will be. Affirmations are also used in step suggestions. Affirmations are positive statements that describe desired changes to the subconscious mind. These changes may include attitudes, beliefs or attitudes.
Using a post-hypnotic suggestion, the fourth stage, allows for the suggestions of the third phase stronger. States a post-hypnotic suggestion that when particular event happens outside of self-hypnosis, changes to the third step will be stronger. For example, return to the example Smoking, a post-hypnotic suggestion maybe when I see a pack of cigarettes, I want to (something you have viewed you do instead of smoking). " The external stimulus is the cigarette, the answer is suggested in behavior visualizations.
The fifth and final stage in self-hypnosis awakens. You should allow at least 20 to 30 seconds for this step, since his return to full consciousness too quickly may cause disorientation (confusion about time and place). An effective technique is to count 1 to 5, showing yourself to every issue that you are increasingly awake and conscious. Each issue should take about 5-6 seconds. When you reach the number 5, you are completely conscious.
self-hypnosis does require practice, but if you practice the 5 steps described above, you can become an expert in this process and use it to make the changes you desire.
