Jose Silva, a native of Texas and a veteran the Second World War, became interested in psychology the day he was inducted into the U.S. Army Corps of signal. Silva said that when the mind is in his "Alpha State", it was more sensitive to learning and absorbing information that it would be in his "State Beta". Studies have shown that students who are familiar with this method of mind control "have learned twice as fast as those who are not, and these methods have been studied heavily in the 1970s, leading to a published book entitled: You the Healer, written by Silva himself. Silva died in 1999 after completing his ESP method.
