Affirmations are like software that can literally "Re-Wire your brain programming. In fact, this analogy is more accurate than many think. Calling claims software sounds like a metaphor, but there is more truth than just the level of metaphor.

When it is repeated repeatedly in the right circumstances, the statements actually create new pathways in the brain. These new ways to change the way we think, act and react to stimuli around us.

When I started using affirmations, I repeated each myself more than 50 times per day. And I could work a maximum of ten statements at a time (hey, I wanted to change my life around and I did not expect).

But is shear brute force, repetition the only way to get affirmations to work and do the work of creating new channels?

  1. Record your voice. Record your own voice speak enthusiastically about your claims, then you can listen again and again.
  2. Record your voice and music. Music allows the brain to create different states. Choose peaceful music such as Johann Bach to achieve alpha status if you want to create a system of beliefs, or opting for something powerful to strike hard if you want to create energy in you. An example might be play Bach if you try to improve your golf swing and Queen if you try to improve your play on the football field.
  3. Write your claims at least 20 times a day. The movements of your hands kinesthetic hire another part of your brain. You remember that lasts an elementary school teacher who made you write: "I will not throw spit wads in class," thousands of times? In fact, maybe you should not remember her ever since I creating a positive relationship to writing and self change, but you get the point about the claims that writing calls actually the brain (also, do you throw spit wads in class after that?)
  4. Use subliminal technology. This requires a purchase, but software is capable of recording your affirmations at the sub-audible. Go online and you can find many excellent tools for audio subliminal subliminal software that plays on your computer or video subliminal message systems.
  5. Get someone else to save your statements. Ask someone you respect as an authority figure or someone you know has your best interests at heart. I knew a therapist who regularly does this for his patients and the results seem to occur much faster than if they recorded their own voices. Be sure to change statements first to the second person.
  6. Use your assertions that hypnotic suggestions. Learn self-hypnosis and read the statements yourself in a hypnotic state or listen to your recorded voice. Self-hypnosis is not difficult to learn. You can take a book, CD or DVD to the library and it is to practice tonight. The reason hypnosis works so well is that it puts your brain in a state responsiveness that makes you more suggestible. This reduces all the filters and the skepticism of your conscience requires challenging new ideas.

Affirmations are powerful tools to change your life. Try different ways to use and you soon find yourself putting less food your plate, throw your cigarettes, making more sales or some change you want to do in your life.
