Self-hypnosis is the name of a process by which another person induces an altered state of consciousness in themselves.
During this time the person in this state they are fully in control of what happens to them, but they are in a very relaxed and location sensitive and the hypnotist can make suggestions verbally or otherwise, that may provide answers, ideas, information, behavior, etc. that are not apparent to the state of consciousness normal.
Self-hypnosis or trance can also occur at any time of day when a person becomes so absorbed in an activity, they seem to drift off and do not realize the time. It's natural. Hypnosis is one of the most powerful forms of psychological intervention to help with stress, anxiety and phobias because it is very normal to feel totally relaxed and have peace of mind and a sense serenity, while undergoing the procedure.

At this stage, the hypnotist usually suggest some positive changes that would be beneficial for the client to take on board at an unconscious level. Sometimes, these suggestions can be woven into a story it is not quite so obvious to the customer.
This is purely to stop clienta rational mind tries to make sense of the matter. This means that the person is usually nonsense anyway. This is the perfect way to suggestions to the unconscious. The client will leave the state self-hypnosis in a more conscious state feeling very relaxed and the process will work far below their conscience when the customer goes over his day.
